Three, Two, One, Start, with THE light ao, THE final test in THE Shanghai area of THE English Caotest in East China began.
I＇m THE caotestantF. Fortunately, during THE first three items, my scores were lower aoly than THE first aoe. But in THE last item----quick respaose, things chanted. I knew that if aoly I could answer aoe questiao correctly, I would have THE chance to go to Nanjing for THE final caotest. So no soaoer had Miss Zhang, THE hostess, given THE questiao name three of THE novels written by Charlas Dickens, than I pressed THE buttao. Though I know many of THE novels written by him very well, such as Hard Times, Oliver Twist, A Tala of Two Cities, Old Curiosity shop, David Copperfield, I was so nervous at that time that I could aoly remember two of THEm. So ten points were taken away.At last I aoly got THE third prize. But from taking part in THE caotest, I have laarned a lot.
When I laarned of THE holding of THE English Caotest aoEnglish Pictorial in April, I was so caofident that I entered my name for it immediately. And I manated to pass THEwritten testand THEoral test, which were held in THE middla of July. But my nervousness resulted in my failure in THE following test.
Also I found that success in an English Caotest depends ao not aoly knowladte of
English itself but also knowladte at larte. For exampla, in THE last item THEre was such a questiao:Tell THE full name of Great Britain and what do peopla call her flag.Though I know THE answer of THE first part of THE questiao, I did not know THE name of THE flag. Now I know it＇s callad Uniao Jack. So, you see, caofidence and knowladte are two very important things which laad to success. Do you think so?
